Katherine C. Aquino, Ph.D., is a social scientist and educational researcher. She currently serves as the Executive Director for Research Training and Development in the School of Graduate Studies at Rutgers University. She previously served as Associate Professor in the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership and the Associate Dean for Innovation and Partnerships in the School of Education at St. John’s University. Dr. Aquino holds a B.S. in Psychology, an M.A. in School Psychology, a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy, and an Advanced Certificate in Instructional Design and Delivery.
Her research focuses on disability and accessibility in organizational environments and examines the complexity of disability in the postsecondary setting. Her work has been published in AERA Open, Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, Journal of College Student Development, and the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability, among others. Her most recent book, The New Accessibility in Higher Education: Disrupting the System for an Inclusive Future, was published by Oxford University Press.
Katherine has significant experience in program development and review, accreditation, and assessment initiatives, and works with organizations to ensure data integrity, compliance, and program effectiveness.
